Thomas Gregersen receives Foreign Minister's Commendation Award
On March 13, the Consul General of Japan, Mr. Shinji Nagashima, presented the Foreign Minister's Commendation to Mr. Thomas Gregersen, former Cultural Director of Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, for his thirty five years of service at the Morikami.
Since the Museum opened, Mr. Gregersen organized nearly 160 Japanese cultural exhibits as the senior curator until he decided to retire last year. He has rendered a great service in the promotion of the mutual understanding between Japan and the United State of America through introducing Japanese arts and culture to people who live in Florida. For this reason, the award was given in recognition for his devotion and work.
Mr. Gregersen’s family joined the celebaration along with Morikami President Randal Baker, Park Administrator, Bonnie White LeMay, Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Director, Eric Call, Special Facilities Director John Herrick, and the staff of the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens.
Congratulations to Mr. Gregersen!!
